Birthday tutorial

yes I'm alive, just not posting enough but hey its my birthday tomorrow and as in previous years I came with a present to my blog readers.
in 2009 it was a giveaway, in 2010 it was a cute tutorial and in 2011 it was nothing... i waited patiently for a gift from you but since it did not arrive I waited to 2012 (naa, just kidding' it was pure lazyness)
so, here is a very easy tutorial which i hope you will like  - we will learn how to cover a candle holder like that

you will need:

polymer clay in 4 colors
scrap clay
white acrylic

make a skinner blend with as many colors as you like (I used 4 as you can see)

the finished blended sheet

fold in half and pass through the pasta machine turn 90 degreesmy (well now that  my picture is all messed you also need to turn your head in order to see it, sorry)

pass through the pasta machine

accordion fold it and reduce

after reduction cut in half  and attached.
that's it the cane is ready
make a snake from scrap clay and wrap it with the cane slices. dont worry too much about the joints between the slices since these joints will become part of the decoration in the end

another view of this step
now start applying the snake to your candle holder. again no woories about joints... (this is me' I like making things easy)

once your done covering the vessels bake it according to manufacturer instructions.

once cool apply white acrilic paint and wipe so that the white paint stays only in the joints like that
