A Birthday present Tutorial

For my 40th birthday that will happen this week (April 16) I made a free tutorial for the readers of my blog. this tutorial is inspired from the 3D polymer clay flowers that I see a lot lately.

hope you enjoy it

This is the flowers that we will make.

we will start with a skinner blend.

this is how it will look after passing it app. 25 times in the pasta machine. pass this sheet on #5 in your pasta machine

with small cookie cutters cut circles from the sheet in various sizes- the light color circles should be the smallest. increase the cookie cutter size while moving to the darker area of the skinner blend sheet.

take some cornstarch and cover each circle. thin the circles in their edges. the circle might distort in this stage but that is fine it will give te flower a more natural look.

On a head pin string one pearl and a bead cup.
Start with the light and smallest circles and add it to the head pin from the center. gradually add more circles. the cornstarch will not allow the circles to stick to each other- that is ecactly what we want.
after you like the result bake your flower

after baking add a flattened bead cup and close the head pin by forming a wire wrapped loop.

Now make some more with lots of colors and make pendants or earings from them.
