polymer clay Hamsa

polymer clay Hamsa, originally uploaded by * Naama Zamir.

A new Hamsa I made. what I like most about it is that the backround is made from leftovers that I gathered from the table after making a new kaleidescope cane.
the end result reminds me of fabric doesn't it?

Polymer clay covered bowl

Oh how I missed covering vessels... I feel it has been years since I last did a "vessel" project", it was if I did not have enough patience or creativity.
I hope you will like this one- I love how it turned out. it is now on my Etsy store (first time selling such a big piece on Etsy)

made this Hamsa this weekend and I really like how it turned out.

Glass like finish- Update

A while back I wrote about a nice glass like finish on Polymer clay. well' a lot happened since then- Plaid changed the packaging and name of the product. it is called Royal Coat dimensional magic.
but that was not the only change. apperantely they changed something in the formula which resulted in very hard finish that cracks while drying. at first I thought it was some kind of reaction with the polymer clay but it also cracked when I used it as a test on a plain paper. I don't know why it happened but it was VERY frustrating because the option of Using this method was very easy and nice.

and then it hit me- I added 50% of Studio to thin the sauce and it rocks!!!!

hope it will also work for you.

New Brooch

New Brooch, originally uploaded by * Naama Zamir.

I played with this new brooch last weekend. I got some new metal leaf that is almost like a powder spreaded on a sheet of paper. when I put it throught the pasta machine it didn't crack like with a 'regular' metal leaf- you can see how it looks on the green part.
under the green layer I made a flower from a christmas cane I made and didn't like.
overall I like the end result
