New pendants

New pendants that I just finish sanding and buffing. I have a custom order for 5 necklaces but I am not sure if I want to make them all with the same pendant style ... the ones that are not going to be included in the custom order will be on my Etsy next week

Inspiration

French artist Electra made this loveley ring using a metal clasp in the center.what a clever idea isn't it? I also like the handsawn look that she added to the flower .

A breakthrough

I know this title sound big but I think it is... Idit Zoota published a wonderful breakthrough in reducing a flower cane with no backround.
following are the picture she posted in the Israeli forum with a translationto English.
the initial cane is a "regular" flower cane. this specific cane was made by Yonat Dascalo the only difference is that before adding the backround she wrapped the flower with playdough

YES!!! PLAYDOH...

since the playdough is based on water it will not stick to the clay. after reducing the flower to the desirable size you can just peal off the backround.

this is how it will look like with no backround.

this is a slice from the cane. if the slice is ditorted while cutting you will be able to move the petals and fix it

In order to remove any playdoh leftover you can just soak the slice/cane in water

Let dry

This is the clean cane

now you can use the cane on any backround

Last week i attended a fun workshop with Julie Picarello. Julie is such a nice person with such a good taste for colors and shapes. the above is a picture of Julie (left) anf me (the one that fills the rest of the space... oh I need to start my diet again...).

new mosaic table

made this table to be presented in a craft show by a local importer. the goal was to show the versatility of this wonderful material called "polymer clay". al the colorful slices are made from polymer clay.

this is one of my favorite kaleidescope canes. it turned out in a flower shape which i really like and the entire hamsa looks like fabric to me.
all the colors were randomly mixed from various colors I had on my working table.

custom order

the order I got was for two pairs of identical hamsa key rings. it is VERY hard to make identical peices in polymer clay (in my own opinion) - so after explaining that to my customer and getting the green light to proceed I started with the challenge.

I decided to go with my kaleidescope canes and to use one slice from the cane to acheive maximun precision.

here are the two pairs packed and ready to be given tomorrow morning. hope she will like them.
